The operation was carried out in the urban area of Cúcuta, by means of a search warrant, which resulted in the capture of two individuals, one accused of being ringleader of the armed group and the other o being squad leader of the Organized Criminal Group, GDO, Los Pelusos
In the framework of the Esparta Military and Police Campaign, the National Army and the National Police, with the support of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, flagrantly captured the person accused of being the ringleader alias Pineda and the head of the squad alias Teo, who would be members of the organized criminal group (GDO) Los Pelusos, for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes, manufacture, trafficking, carrying or possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
This result of the soldiers of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Thirtieth Brigade, with the support of the Norte de Santander Police, occurred through raids in the urban area of Cúcuta. Thus, they captured the individuals who would be members of this GDO and apparently responsible for various killings of members of the Military Forces and crimes against civilians, such as forced displacement.
During the raids, two pistols, two magazines, 28 cartridges, nine cell phones and a headscarf with allusions to the EPL troops found.
Alias Pineda would have a criminal experience of 10 years, he would be the ringleader of the GDO and also responsible for assassinating members of the Security forces, through snipers; in the same way, he would be in charge of the installation of improvised explosive devices in the municipalities of Ocaña, Teorama, San Calixto and Sardinata.
In the same way, alias Teo, was also captured. He would have a 10-year criminal experience in the GDO. This individual would serve as squad ringleader, apparently in charge of collecting the money from extortion, trafficking, control and sale of coca base paste and cocaine hydrochloride in the municipalities of interference in the Catatumbo region.
Those captured and the materials were put into custody of the authority.
This year, the troops of the Thirtieth Brigade have captured 17 members of this structure, and have destroyed five laboratories for the production of cocaine hydrochloride and one for coca base paste.
