So far this year, more than 40 alleged members of different organized armed groups have surrendered to the soldiers of the Twelfth Brigade, in the department of Caquetá, to reintegrate into civilian life.
Thanks to the different campaigns carried out by the soldiers of Comprehensive Action of the different battalions of the Twelfth Brigade of Colombian National Army, who seek the dismantling of the armed groups outlaw, through the publication of the path of surrender to justice, during the last week it was possible the surrender a couple who apparently belonged to the Second Marquetalia, structure Iván Ríos, a group that commits crimes in the department of Nariño.
The couple arrived at the Combat Engineer Battalion No. 12, in the village of Venecia, in Florencia, department of Caquetá, where they expressed to the troops the will to reintegrate into civilian life, together with their one-year-old little daughter, who became the reason for returning home, because being part of this group it was not possible to share quality family time.
This couple was put into custody of the Demobilized Humanitarian Assistance Group of the Ministry of National Defense, to get the benefits and opportunities provided by reintegration into civil society process.
In this way, the Twelfth Brigade calls on all those members of these organized armed groups to abandon their weapons and follow the path of legality, taking advantage of the benefits provided by the national Government to start a new life project with loved ones.
