In the Department of Norte de Santander, it was possible to unblock the roads: Sardinata-Cúcuta and Ocaña-Sardinata.
In Buenaventura, with the support of more than 1,700 Army, Navy and National Police units, progress is being made in restoring normalcy to the port.
Thanks to the joint work conducted by Military Forces, the National Government and local authorities, all the main roads have been unblocked to guarantee the supply and free mobility of citizens.
“In the department of Norte de Santander, it was possible to unblock the roads: Sardinata-Cúcuta and Ocaña - Sardinata. After these works, only 4 internal blockades remain in the city of Cali, " said Defense Minister Diego Molano.
More than 6,000 tons of cargo and 27 thousand gallons of fuel have been transported by ships that transport cargo by the different coastal communities of the departments of Chocó, Cauca, Nariño and Valle del Cauca.
Thanks to the security conditions provided by the coordinated effort of the Military Forces from May 19 to date, they have managed to transport about 67 thousand cargo vehicles and individuals both entering and leaving Buenaventura.
“This has led to maintain the movement of the productive networks of the communities of the Pacific coast and has benefited directly to retailers, medical facilities, and residents of this region of the country,” said the vice-Admiral Ricardo Hurtado Chacon, Chief of Naval Operations of the Navy.
In Buenaventura, with the support of more than 1,700 Army men, the Navy and the National Police, progress have been made in restoring normalcy to the port; 49 caravans have been secured.
"We are not going to proclaim victory. We will continue in the task of guaranteeing the country mobility, supply, the right to work and health. Our soldiers and police officers are there to serve Colombians throughout the country and they will remain there,” Minister Molano insisted.
The Military Forces relentlessly protect the country's main roads to prevent further blockades.
