120 members of the Colombian Air Force and the Ecuadorian Air Force are part of the combined exercise of air interdiction 'Andes II', which was inaugurated today in the city of Manta - Ecuador and will be carried out during this week in both countries, in order to strengthen the strategies to fight against drug trafficking in the border.
Until next Friday, there will be operations that simulate the interdiction of illegal aircrafts, of the detection of the traces, the operational planning, to the landing and capture of personnel on board.
Other factors that will in the same way be part of the second version of this exercise are the updating of procedures and the standardization of tactics, achieving effective communication.
This type of missions increases the expertise of the crews of Colombia and Ecuador. In the same way, they strengthen capacities that help to stop the criminal act of transnational criminal organizations.
