The action occurred after meetings for the binational military operation that have been carried out in recent months, which has led the Colombian and Peruvian authorities to have valuable information to locate the troops at strategic points which led to the closure of mobility routes used by criminals.
Within the framework of military operations, binational interoperability operations, the Twenty-sixth Rainforest Brigade of Colombian National Army of Colombia, the National Navy of Colombia, the Colombian Air Force and the National Police of Peru found more than half a ton of narcotics that criminal groups planned to transport and commercialize in Peruvian territory.
In a binational work of the Intelligence and the National Police of the neighboring country of Peru, troops dealt a hard blow to drug trafficking in the village Mario Rivera, Yahavari district, Loreto department, in Peru; during the procedure it was possible to arrest in flagrante delicto two people of Colombian nationality, who had hidden in a house more than 500 kilos of marijuana and 21 kilos of coca paste base.
According to Military Intelligence, the house where the narcotics were kept served as a place of collection and distribution for drug traffickers, who were ready to start distributing it in Peruvian territory. This work involved expert unmanned aircraft pilots, who were following up on a man and a woman, previously identified in order to search for the house that was used as a warehouse for drug traffickers.
The National Police of Peru arrived at the place marked by the remotely manned aircraft and reported the place where they found 18 large-sized sacks and 2 medium-sized ones wrapped in black canvas. At the time of carrying out the respective count, 515 packages of marijuana and 20 packages of coca paste base were obtained, which confirms the success of this military operation.
This operation demonstrates the level of collaboration by the two countries to confront illegal armed groups and led the arrest of two people, including a 50-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
One of the detainees would be the head of the Structure and who would be the main coordinator for the transportation of narcotics through illegal routes and, in the same way, to receive and hide the drugs in illegal hiding places at the border, through criminal alliances with criminal groups.
