The Colombian Navy sent the ship ARC Bahía Solano, to transport 10 tons of food baskets and 50 tons of liquefied petroleum gas - LPG, from the port of Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca, to Tumaco - Nariño.
The Amphibious Landing Ship - BDA, transported the liquefied gas in two tankers in accordance with the request made by the Ministry of Mines and Energies. This chemical is used as an industrial, residential and roadside energy source, for trucks and buses as a fuel.
It in the same way transported a thousand food baskets donated by the Diocesan Food Bank of Tumaco that will be distributed to the community.
The transport of this material was carried out within the framework of the maritime humanitarian route established by the National Government in the Colombian Pacific, due to the emergency presented last January 10, in which a collapse was reported that blocked the Pan American highway leaving the department of Nariño isolated.
It should be noted that on January 23, 90 tons of humanitarian aid arrived at the port of Tumaco, including perishable and non-perishable food that supplied this community.
