In compliance with the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan Ayacucho and the deployment of troops for the Democracy 2023 Plan, with the direction of the Southwest Joint Command No.2, a military operation led by the Colombian Navy was carried out in the department of Valle del Cauca, which was supported by the Judicial Police of the Investigative Group against Organized Crime Structures – GREDO – DIJIN, in which a camp structure of the Valle Substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, was found, an armed confrontation occurred and it left the death in the framework of military operations of five individuals and the finding of war materiel, among other elements.
The operation was carried out by troops of the Pacific Naval Force who found the camp structure in a rural area of the municipality of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca. After the armed confrontation and during the review of the place, the military personnel found the five dead in the framework of the operation, they also seized two rifles, a pistol, abundant ammunition, military accessories material, communication equipment, doctrine cards, new uniforms of Colombian National Army, among other items.
The bodies and the material found were taken to the District of Buenaventura, to be put into custody of the judicial authorities and to conduct the relevant procedures. Among those killed in the framework of the operation, it was established that alias Delta was found, who would be in charge of indoctrinating the different fronts of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo for its projection of criminal expansion.
With this decisive blow, criminal intentions against indigenous communities on the riparian areas of the Calima River are countered, providing them with security, protection and the mitigation of the risks described in the existing early warnings in this area. In the same way, the criminal activity of this criminal structure responsible for selective homicides, collection of money from extortion, trafficking or production of narcotics and armed confrontations with other criminal groups, with which the mobility routes of drug trafficking in this region are disputed, are weakened.
