Because of the emergency due to a storm in the islands of the Archipelago, specifically in the Island Santa Cruz, Isla M煤cura Island Tintip谩n and Isla Fuerte, the Navy of Colombia, through the coast Guard Station in Cove帽as in coordination with the Governor of Bolivar, the Office of Disaster Risk Management of Cartagena and other institutions, continue to support the work of humanitarian assistance in order to mitigate the impacts caused by the heavy rains and winds that caused irreparable damage in some sectors of this region of the island.
According to the official report by the Office of Disaster Risk Management, the emergency harmed 68 families, 30 houses and two Child Development Centers 鈥揅DI-, so Cove帽as Guard Units were deployed to the assistance in the emergency, who in the same way found trees, ceilings, shades of restaurants and two communication towers of internet that closed the free transit through the islands.
In the same way, on board the Coast Guard Units have been transported fibrocement materials, specifically tiles for houses, food baskets consisting of non-perishable foods, kits with toiletries and humanitarian assistance, motor pumps, among others, to support the restoration of damaged houses and commercial premises.
It is important to remember, that people should keep all the recommendations issued by the institution for the care in emergencies and disasters, in order to be able to cope in the best way this season of rains and heavy winds, which due to the weather conditions at this time of year favor the occurrence of these phenomena mainly in the colombian Caribbean.
As part of the coordinated work conducted by the institutions to mitigate the emergency, the hit inhabitants, mostly owners of commercial premises, will be given special management to recover in the shortest possible time everything they have lost.
