Since Mandatory Preventive Isolation began, every day members of the Caribbean Naval Force carry out humanitarian distribution activities in all corners of the Heroic city.
Full of hope and commitment, men and women of the Colombian Navy supported the distribution of more than 5,392 food kits for the most vulnerable inhabitants of the urban area and the insular area of Cartagena, in the department of Bolívar.
During the last days, the crew of the Naval Institution have reached the most vulnerable houses in the districts Arroz Barato, Luis Carlos Galán, Keneddy, Villa Estrella in the urban area and Punta Arena in the insular area, with these thousands of humanitarian aid and cleaning kits managed by public and private sector institutions that seek to guarantee the well-being of these prioritized inhabitants of Cartagena, during the covid-19 pandemic.
This operation that helps to bring the Unified State services in a sustained manner to the people of Cartagena during this national contingency, takes place thanks to the inter-institutional work carried out by the Colombian Navy with institutions such as the Ministry of the Interior, the Bolivar Governorate, the Mayor's Office of Cartagena, the National Police, the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management - UNGRD, the Civil Defense, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, ANDI, Ecopetrol, Cartagena Unida and the Foundations AGM Huellas de Piedra, Bahía and Amigos del Mar.
