In a protocol ceremony held at the ARC Bolívar Naval Logistics Base, the Colombian Navy received from the District Mayor's Office of Cartagena two tactical boats that will strengthen logistics resources and contribute efficiently for the security of the city.
The zodiac milpro type boats with capacity for 10 people were given to the Naval Institution, through the resources of the Territorial Fund for Security and Citizen Coexistence – FONSET, and will be used for military search and rescue operations, underwater security operations, special operations and emergencies. It should be noted that this is the third delivery of equipment made by the Mayor's Office to the Colombian Navy in recent months.
The commander of the Caribbean Naval Force, Vice Admiral Hernando Mattos Dager, thanked the Mayor's Office stating: “...the contribution to security with the donation of these ships is fundamental, since they are essential elements for our mission of protection and security of citizens in the port of Cartagena, a port of great relevance for the country.”
The event was attended by the Commander of the Caribbean Naval Force, the Secretary of the Interior and Citizen Coexistence, Ana María González and men and women of the Naval Institution.
