With this operation, more than 28 million dollars were prevented from entering the finances of Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in the colombian Pacific.
A new blow to the finances of transnational criminal organizations was dealt by the colombian Navy units in the colombian Pacific, with the detection of a semi-submersible loaded with 843. 8 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The security and sea control operations carried out in the central area of the Pacific by the Tumaco Coast Guard Station units with the support of the Punta Ardita Naval Surface Platform, and intelligence information, allowed the detection of a green handcrafted semi-submersible, which was adrift in the sector of Punta Aji, Valle del Cauca.
During the inspection of the abandoned device, 29 sacks of different sizes were found inside, with packaging characteristics similar to those used by the illegal groups for illegal drug trafficking. Also, communication and gps equipment and several fuel barrels were found.
Subsequently, three people, including two colombians and a mexican, were detected at sea and were rescued immediately by Coast Guard members.
The sacks, the equipment, the fuel and the three individuals were transferred to Buenaventura, where personnel of the Technical Investigation Body of the Attorney Office carried out the preliminary homologated identification tests (Piph) to the substances found in the 838 rectangular packages in the sacks, which left positive result for cocaine.
The material was put into custody of the authorities.
The value of this cocaine shipment on the abroad illegal market would be close to $28 million dollars, which failed to enter the finances of transnational drug trafficking groups.
