With this result, more than 29 million dollars stop entering the finances of drug trafficking organizations.
The Colombian Navy in an operation against drug trafficking in the Gulf of Urabá, obtained the finding of more than 860 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that were transported in a go fast type boat in the waters of the Colombian Caribbean.
The result was consolidated thanks to the operation of a surface unit of the Colombian Navy, which carried out the detection of a suspicious ship apparently transporting narcotic substances. A Rapid Reaction Unit of the Urabá Coast Guard Station was immediately deployed to the area, which initiated the pursuit, making the maritime interception five nautical miles from Zapata - Antioquia.
In the boat there were four individuals of Colombian nationality, transporting 35 bags with 861 packages, which were brought to the coast Guard Station of Urabá, where they took the Tests for Preliminary Identification Approved - PIPH, leaving positive result for 861 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, where these illegal groups could get more than two million doses of drugs that would hit global public health. The arrested personnel and the material were put into custody of the authorities.
It is estimated that this cargo would have left the shores of the Gulf of Urabá bound for Central America and would reach a cost exceeding 29 million dollars in the international illegal market, a figure that ceases to enter the financial structure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
