The Colombian Navy, through the Naval Force of the East, in a joint and coordinated operation with the Army and the National Police, seized 204 pieces of Guadua-type wood (cane), equivalent to 20.4 cubic meters, when they were transported without the safe-conduct required for transportation in a tugboat on the Arauca River, in the Department of Arauca.
River search and control operations that are steadily conducting units of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.52, attached to the Navy Infantry Brigade No.5, led to the finding of the boat sailing in the Guardulio island sector, on the Arauca River. The two men who drove the boat realizing the presence of military units escaped.
The 204 wooden slats were put into custody of the regional autonomous corporation for the Sustainable Development of Orinoquia, CORPOORINOQUIA. It should be noted that this year the Naval Force of the East has found 78 cubic meters of wood.
