The Colombian Navy, through the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the department of Sucre, rescued two young men aged 18 and 19, from Sincelejo, since they were victims of extortion.
These young people become victims of this problem after the company for which they work received a request for a transport service from the municipality of Sincelejo to the village of Canutal, in Ovejas, Sucre, in a van-type vehicle.
Once the workers arrived at the place where the service was wanted, they received intimidating calls from some individuals who identified themselves as alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, stating that they had been kidnapped and that, if they took any action, they would attack on their lives.
The criminals demanded eight million pesos for the release of the workers.
One of the young men, upon realizing the situation, made the denunciation to the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) - Sucre, thus starting a deployment of units to carry out a search operation for the victim with a special anti-extortion group.
After a rigorous follow-up by members of the Colombian Navy Military Forces, the victims were found by troops in good health, being returned safely to their families, thus preventing the payment of extortion.
