Thanks to the response of the Colombian Navy personnel, the search and rescue operation of a man who was navigating on the Amazonas River in the Nazareth sector was successfully carried out, his ship in which he was traveling caught fire.
Upon arriving immediately at the scene, it was possible to rescue the 38-year-old ship's pilot alive, who said that the small motorboat would have suffered an explosion, quickly generating the incineration of it.
At the time of the rescue, crew members of the Amazon Coast Guard Command gave first aid to the pilot of the boat and subsequently transferred him in a Rapid Reaction Unit to the “Victoria Regia” pier in Leticia - in the department of Amazonas, where he was assessed by a team of specialized doctors.
The rescued is out of danger and the motorboat, after being consumed by fire, shipwrecked.
