Coast Guard units of the Colombian Navy rescued three Colombian fishermen, who were adrift in the Caribbean Sea, south of San Andrés Island, because the rudimentary boat in which they were fishing suffered malfunctions in its main engine.
The successful search and rescue operation began since the crew of the boat La Consentida, of Colombian registration, reported the emergency to the Traffic Control and Maritime Surveillance System; which is why a Rapid Reaction Unit - URR of the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés was deployed to the area to provide support in the situation.
Already at the emergency site, the boat was found with its three crewmen from San Andres on board. The crew members of the Naval Institution proceeded to provide first aid and after verifying their good health condition they were taken to the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés, where they were assisted by medical personnel of the Emergency Regulatory Center - CRUE.
