Units of the Colombian Navy rescued three people who were adrift on Isla M煤cura, an insular area of Cartagena, after the kayak-type boat in which they were traveling capsized.
The rescue operation took place within the framework of a Comprehensive Action activity that the naval institution was carrying out together with other public and private institutions in the San Bernardo archipelago. The crew of the amphibious landing ship ARC Gulf of Urab谩 saw two women and a minor in the water who were in an emergency at sea, making help signals.
Immediately, men of the Colombian Navy carried out the approach maneuver reporting the timely and effective rescue of two women, aged 23 and 16, along with a 5-year-old boy, who had shipwrecked while fishing in a kayak-type boat, without having safety elements at hand.
After verifying the health status of those rescued on the ship, communication was established with the Coast Guard Station of Cove帽as, who deployed a Rapid Reaction Unit (RRU) to transport the personnel and the ship to a safe port, putting them to safety.
