The Colombian Navy rescued a 23-year-old man who was kidnapped with a partner by members of the Organized Criminal Group (GDO) Banda Local, in the municipality Cinco of the Puerto de Buenaventura.
The two men arrived in the city to visit an aunt who was in a delicate state of health. When they got out of the vehicle in the sector known as Punta del Este, two armed individuals approached and intimidated them, depriving them of their freedom and forcing one of them to withdraw money in exchange of respect their lives.
When he was about to make the withdrawal of three million pesos, the man managed to escape from one of his captors and arrived the facilities of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of Buenaventura to report what happened. Immediately, the members of this unit, attached to the Navy Brigade No.2 they reacted and with a complete operation they headed to the area to find the whereabouts of the missing man.
Upon reaching one of the streets in the neighborhood, the kidnappers, who were apparently under the criminal command of alias Sami, fled by hiding among the civilian population and released the kidnapped man.
After their release, the rescued and his partner, were taken to the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) facilities, to file a complaint with judicial Police officers of the Technical Investigation Corps.
