The health emergency caused by the Coronavirus has not been an impediment for the Colombian Navy, through the Pacific Naval Force, to continue consolidating its presence in the coastal areas of the department of Chocó to guarantee the safety and tranquility of its inhabitants.
Troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.21, attached to the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, carry out search and control operations in three of the departments of the Colombian Pacific coast, moving through Chocó, Valle del Cauca and Cauca, guaranteeing the security conditions of the communities that have been hit by the criminal operations of groups outlaw that commit crimes in the area.
That is the case of Pichimá Playa, a community on the San Juan Coast in the department of Chocó. In this sector river and land units patrol the rural and surrounding areas to prevent criminal groups from intimidating civilians and hitting the normal development of their economic and cultural activities.
We are there and we will continue in this area, assisting in a timely manner in terms of security to its inhabitants. Operations will continue to be carried out in Pichimá Playa.
