The Colombian Navy exercises an active presence in the rural area of the Special District of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, providing security to large-scale road projects considered strategic projects of the Nation.
Troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.24 and of Navy Infantry Battalion No.21 of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, carry out territorial operations, to contribute to road safety, in the sectors of Guaimia and San Marcos, where the Valle del Cauca Governorate, conducts the paving project of approximately 15 kilometers of road, with the Consortium Vias Buenaventura.
For eight months, the Colombian Navy will provide security to this project that consists of paving of the Potedó Community Council at kilometer 8, through Sabaletas to kilometer 23, in the Llano Bajo Community Council, and that will contribute to improving the quality of life of the people of Buenos Aires.
In the same way, the Navy Infantry Units provided security in the Carlos Holmes sector, in the District, where work is being carried out at various points of the Buenaventura – Yumbo Pipeline network, from January 22 to 29 of this year, by the Stork Group Consortium, contracted by the company CENIT, which is in charge of Transportation and Logistics of Combustibles S.A.S, to Buenaventura.
The aforementioned company currently has a network of pipelines distributed by areas throughout the national territory, to work to raise the supply of refined product in the Colombian Pacific, which leads to the normal development of daily activities of the inhabitants of this region of the country.
