The Colombian Navy in an operation coordinated with the Directorate of Judicial Investigation - DIJÍN - of the National Police, achieved the finding of 99 kilograms of cocaine that were being transported aboard a ship in the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
The Military Forces detected the boat near the access channel of the bay of Cartagena – Bolívar. The staff of the coast Guard Station with a counter narcotic dog proceeded to conduct the inspection of the boat.
The courier boat was taken to the facilities of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, where crew members of the Colombian Navy carried out a complete check, finding inside five sacks with 100 rectangular packages apparently with illicit substances. Therefore, the authorities conducted the Homologated Preliminary Identification Test (PIPH), and confirmed 99.7 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
With this finding, the Colombian Navy prevented more than three million dollars from entering the finances of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in the Colombian Caribbean. In addition, it prevented more than 247 thousand doses of cocaine from being marketed on the streets of the world.
No arrests were made during the operation and the material was put into custody of the authorities.
