After an extensive activity of working with the communities of Santa Cruz del Islote, Puerto Caracol on Isla M煤cura and Tintip谩n, the Second Recycling Festival was successfully completed, an initiative led by the Amigos del Mar Foundation in coordination with the Colombian Navy, the Veolia Company and the hotel groups of the San Bernardo Archipelago.
Through the barter strategy, communities collected the largest amount of classified garbage, which led them to obtain different objects useful for their daily lives. The objective of this event was to raise awareness among communities and tourists about the care and protection of their environment, as well as the importance of classifying solid waste, which in the future will generate healthy environments and sources of income.
Crew of the Navy Battalion No.14 and the Coast Guard Station of Cove帽as, actively supported the recycling festival, giving presents and motivating families to collect more than two tons of waste in this island region.
