Three maritime operations were carried out simultaneously by the Colombian Navy and 1,614 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride were found in the Pacific waters.
The three operations were carried out jointly by Coast Guard Units of the Colombian Navy in the departments of Nariño and Valle del Cauca.
The first operation began in the morning at 15 nautical miles of the Bocana of the San Juan River, municipality of Francisco Pizarro, department of Nariño, where the suspicious departure of a speedboat of the South Pacific was reported. Immediately units in the area detect it and the chase begins for more than an hour, achieving the interception of the speedboat “Picudo”.
At the time of inspecting the boat manned by three individuals of Ecuadorian nationality, the troops found 540 gallons of fuels from Ecuador that entered irregularly the country, communication equipment and a buoy of geo-positioning were also found. Subsequently, the ship was transferred to the Tumaco Coast Guard Station dock, where the troops detected 900 rectangular and pressed packages hidden within a double bottom of the hull, which after the Homologated Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, tested positive for Cocaine hydrochloride with a net weight of 902.7 kilograms.
In this operation the capture of the three individuals took place. They were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office of the Tumaco Sectional Nation, is achieved for their respective judicial process.
Simultaneously, in the North Pacific, exactly 33 nautical miles of the District of Buenaventura, in a second operation a United States plane detects a suspicious ship and initiates a pursuit, contacting the Pacific Naval Force that quickly sent the Coast Guard units. They were guided by a plane of the Colombian Air Force and after two hours of chase with unfavorable climate conditions, the individuals of the boat threw 2 sacks to the sea (later they were recovered), with 270. 2 kilograms of hydrochloride cocaine.
In the third blow, Units of the Tumaco Coast Guard Station, in sea control operations, detected 22 sacks of different sizes floating in a buoy 27 nautical miles off the coast of Tumaco. The bags contained 440 rectangular packages with 441.3 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
It is presumed that the shipments of cocaine hydrochloride, with a cost in the international black market of more than 48,420,000 million dollars, would be destined for Central America.
With these findings made by the Pacific Naval Force Units, not only the financial structures of drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Pacific are significantly damaged. In the same way, prevents the circulation of 1,614,000 doses of cocaine, which daily negatively hits the health of millions of people around the world.
