A new blow to the finances of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo was dealt by the Colombian Navy finding 1.2 tons of cocaine hydrochloride in a maritime operation in the subregion of the Gulf of Urab谩.
The illegal merchandise was transported to Central America in a speedboat manned by four Colombians, when units of the Urab谩 Coast Guard Station, guided by intelligence information, intercept it 40 nautical miles northwest of Acand铆 (Department of Choc贸).
Members of the Military Forces found inside found 51 canvas bags with 1,256 rectangular packages, which were transported to Turbo (Antioquia), where CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) units carried out the Preliminary Identification Tests Approved 鈥揚IPH-, leaving positive result for 1,248 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, whose estimated to cost is close to 42 million dollars in the illegal U.S. market.
This operation, which constitutes another serious blow to organizations in the service of drug trafficking, was coordinated and supported by units of the Panamanian Air and Naval Service (SENAN) and troops of Infantry Battalion No.47 of the XVII Brigade of the National Army, who deployed by sea and land to prevent any attempt to escape.
Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities to carry out the corresponding legal actions for the crime of trafficking, manufacture or possession of drugs.
