In order to contribute to the well-being and comprehensive development of the communities of the Colombian Caribbean, the Colombian Navy, thanks to a coordinated and inter-institutional effort with the Colombian Civil Defense, the National Disaster Risk Management Unit (UNGRD), the Corporation for Community Social Development and the World Food Program, distributed 21 tons of food to the most vulnerable inhabitants of the department of Bolívar.
The first distribution of food was made in the municipality of Isla Grande in the municipality of Magangué, where its inhabitants received 14 tons of food, which were transported by land in two tactical Navy Infantry vehicles from Yatí, Bolívar.
In the second activity, seven tons of food were distributed by waterway in boats of the Colombian Navy, from Yatí to the municipalities of Madrid and Guazo, in Magangué, Bolívar.
The men and women of the River Navy Battalion No.17, of the Colombian Navy have worked uninterruptedly to put at the service of the inhabitants of Bolivar all their logistical Resources, in order to benefit more than 400 families in the department of Bolivar.
