This finding prevented the sale of eight million doses of drugs and the entry of 108 million dollars into criminal structures.
In a ground control operation carried out in the sector of Sabanetica in the municipality of San Onofre - Sucre, the Colombian Navy seized more than 3.2 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, which would belong to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo.
Thanks to the operation of the troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.13, an underground storage facility was found in this area, finding inside it 128 sacks containing 3,195 rectangular packages that, by their appearance, resembled illicit substances.
During the operation, no arrests were reported and the material found was transported to the facilities of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, where members of the Criminal and Judicial Investigation Technical Corps – CTI, conducted the Approved Preliminary Identification Test - PIPH, determining that it was 3,211 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
It is estimated that, through this finding, the finances of drug trafficking organizations were directly hit by more than 108 million dollars and the marketing of eight million doses of drugs on the streets of the world was prevented.
During last week, the Caribbean Naval Force had found more than 6.6 tons of cocaine, reaffirming its commitment to the frontal fight against the transnational crime of drug trafficking.
