Within the framework of river operations in the department of Antioquia, units of the Colombian Navy found more than 35 tons of cement without the corresponding documentation for its transportation.
In area operations conducted on the Cauca River, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17 found 700 sacks of gray cement, 50 kilograms each, which were being transported in a wooden boat type metrera in the municipality of Nechà - Antioquia.
Cement is a precursor under permanent control by the authorities; its transport and use are restricted by regulations. It was put into custody of the authority for not complying with the established requirements and regulations related to the control of substances and chemical products, since cement can be used by criminal groups for the extraction, transformation and refining of illicit drugs or illegal mining.
