This year, the Institution has found more than 290 tons of cocaine hydrochloride.
Thanks to the rapid reaction of Colombian Navy units in carrying out operations against drug trafficking, it was possible to intercept a Go Fast boat in the department of La Guajira, 20 nautical miles of the municipality of Camarones.
The speedboat with two individuals, one of Costa Rican nationality and the other Jamaican, was intercepted by Caribbean Coast Guard crew, who found inside 21 barrels of fuel and 66 rectangular packages containing the alleged illicit substance.
The boat was taken to the dock of the Coast Guard Station of Santa Marta, where personnel of the Technical Investigation Corps 鈥揅TI - after conducting the Initial Preliminary Test, managed to determine that it was 66 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
With this blow to drug trafficking organizations, the Naval Institution managed to prevent more than two million dollars from entering the financial structures of outlaw groups.
