More than 4,000 inhabitants of the village of Bocachica, on the island of Tierra Bomba, approximately 1.5 kilometers from the city of Cartagena, were benefited with the donation of 20,000 gallons of drinking water distributed by the Colombian Navy to these insular people.
To carry out the humanitarian assistance operation, the Amphibious Landing Ship ARC Golfo de Tribug谩 was designated, a unit built in Colombia at the Cotecmar shipyards and that thanks to its dual Resources can be used both in armed operations and in disaster response as well as in support to the inhabitants.
With these humanitarian assistance operations, the Colombian Navy strengthens ties with the communities that live in its area of responsibility, while contributing to the improvement of the quality of life and development.
