In the course of a coordinated and interagency operation, a transnational drug trafficking organization calling itself Los Raptor was dismantled with the arrest of nine of its alleged members, accused of collecting and transporting large quantities of cocaine and marijuana to Central America by sea.
The operation was carried out simultaneously in Cali, Jamundí and Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca), by units of the Colombian Navy, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office.
In the course of research carried out for approximately two years, it was possible to establish the existence of this structure at the service of drug trafficking that transported narcotics to Central America by speedboats and semi-submarines.
The detainees committed crimes in the municipality of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, where they acquired and stored elements and coordinated the transportation of illegal substances, along with a group that also commit crimes in the sea of Valle del Cauca, Nariño and Chocó, checking the movement of the cargo and the work of the authorities, in addition to collecting “taxes” from other criminal structures for the transportation of narcotic drugs.
Among those arrested is alias Doctorazo, ringleader of this criminal organization, financier and coordinator of the purchase, transport, storage and marketing of narcotics. In the same way, alias Pecheche, a secondary financier and logistics agent for the recruitment of transporters and also in charge of obtaining the drugs.
Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities and were under in precautionary measure for the purpose of confiscating their assets that would cost more than one billion pesos. In the same way, thanks to the investigative work, the now dismantled criminal structure had been hit by eight confiscations by the authorities in which the trafficking of 5,848 kilograms of cocaine and 1,009 kilograms of marijuana was prevented and nine possible transporters were arrested in flagrante delicto.
