Units of the Colombian Navy, in coordination with the maritime productive groups, are carrying out search and rescue operations to find three missing people after a family enjoying the Magdalena River in the area was swept away leaving them in emergency.
The search and rescue operation began about noon today when a person of the sector informed the Coast Guard Station of Barranquilla of the emergency involving five people that took place near La buoy 18. Immediately, Rapid Reaction units were sent to the area.
A minor was rescued at the scene and the body of another was found. The authorities are continuing the search for the three people who are still missing, without having positive results at the time.
