- A Colombian submarine, two ships and three aircraft participated in the training together with a US ship.
In order to strengthen interoperability and resources for naval operations against transnational crimes, units of the Colombian Navy conducted training exercises with the United States Navy in the waters of the Caribbean Sea.
At the level of a task group consisting of the littoral combat ship of the United States Navy, the USS Kingsville, together with the Missile Frigate ARC Antioquia, the corvette ARC Tono, the submarine ARC Tayrona and three aircraft of the naval aviation (one Unit and two helicopters) of the Colombian Navy; various naval exercises of strategic planning, logistics, military communication and joint skills are carried out, in the face of different threats in the hemisphere.
These exercises, which are constantly carried out by two or more navies of the world, have as their purpose the training, communication and cooperation of the military operation for the standardization of procedures that leads to interoperability to be conducted by the naval and aeronautical units of the Caribbean countries, strengthening the knowledge of the maritime domain to efficiently counter maritime crimes, protect the environment and safeguard human life at sea.
