In this edition number IV, 2,453 military and 10 warships from six different countries participated.
In the Bay of Ancón and Callao - Peru, the Colombian Navy successfully completed its participation in the multinational operation SOLIDAREX 2024, a strategic exercise focused on international cooperation for maritime security and humanitarian assistance, which integrated six Navies of the continent, including the United States.
This multinational exercise led to strengthening interoperability to face regional threats that may occur in the oceans, as well as natural disasters that require humanitarian assistance with international cooperation.
Search and rescue procedures, amphibious landing, fuel spill response, underwater pipeline repair, aeromedical evacuations, debris removal and cargo transportation were some of the 32 exercises carried out in this fourth edition of SOLIDAREX.
The Colombian Maritime Task Force, in which 97 crew members participated and which was composed of the ARC Victoria ship, a Navy Infantry component, a Naval Aviation helicopter, a Coast Guard Rapid Reaction Unit and a group of specialized divers of the National Navy, interoperated together with more than 2,400 military and 10 warships of the navies of Brazil, Ecuador, the United States, Mexico and Peru.
"The participation of the Colombian Navy in SOLIDAREX 2024 reaffirms its commitment to being a key actor in global maritime security. These exercises lead us to improve the resources of the military operation, strengthen cooperation with international allies and continue working to increase comprehensive security in the seas,“ said the Commander of the ARC ”Victoria" ship, Frigate Captain Juan Carlos Olarte Guzmán.
The Colombian Navy will continue to actively integrate with the navies of the allied countries in multinational exercises, which will strengthen its capacity to protect national interests and cooperate with the international people in the preservation of peace and comprehensive maritime security.
