The Colombian Navy captured two members of the Organized Criminal Group 'La Local' and seized a large amount of war material in the neighborhood Olimpico of the “Ocho” locality of the port of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
After receiving information from naval intelligence, about the presence of armed men who apparently would be coordinating the transit and protection of illicit substances to be sent to Central America, the personnel of the Unified action operation Group for Personal freedom of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the Navy of Colombia moved to the sector to conduct search and control operations.
During military operations, two armed individuals who tried to flee after noticing the presence of the troops were captured thanks to the rapid reaction of the troops. These two criminals of the Organized Criminal Group 'La Local', were put into custody of the authorities for the crime of manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.
These individuals, who had with them a rifle, a magazine and 11 cartridges nine millimeters, as well as a revolver and 57 cartridges caliber 5.56 millimeters, are accused of robbery, extortion and intimidation against the civilian population in the city of Buenaventura .
The troops also found inside a wooden house, an outboard engine of 250 horse power that would have been stolen by these individuals, as well as an Israeli Uzi submachinegun with magazine, a Mossberg shotgun, seven cartridges caliber 12 millimeters, two magazines for Galil rifle and 28 cartridges nine millimeters.
