Colombian Navy will deploy more than 700 men and women in maritime, air and land security operations in Cartagena and the island zone.
In order to ensure safe environments for the enjoyment of the tourist season, the Caribbean Naval Force, through its components, will provide its resources to support the security operations of the Military Forces and district authorities, which from December 3rd and until next January 24th, will be implemented during the season of high influx of visitors.
In that sense, units of the Cartagena Coast Guard Station, the Caribbean Air Force Group, the Caribbean Surface Fleet and Navy troops, are in maximum readiness to reinforce control and surveillance patrols that ensure safe environments for citizens.
For maritime controls, the Caribbean Naval Force will join forces with the Captaincy of the Port of Cartagena, who with their corps of inspectors on land and their boats, will be controlling the sails of the ships from the different authorized docks in the city, verifying the status of the ships, capacity of allowed people and the use of elements of maritime security and biosecurity. At the same time, controls will be strengthened to prevent access to areas of the island area such as Chol贸n and Playa Blanca that still have restrictions.
