In the municipality of Santa Fe, rural area of the municipality of Magangué, Bolívar, the Colombian Navy arrived with the support of public and private institutions, to carry out a free of charge health activity in which donations were in the same way given to families to mitigate the effects caused by the rain wave.
In this way, 1,650 people attended town school to receive attention in different medical specialties such as dentistry, cytology, social work, general medicine and awareness among adolescents for the prevention of unwanted pregnancies. It is an operation carried out by specialists of the Unidos Foundation, the ESE Municipal Rio Grande de la Magdalena and the IPS Mutual Ser.
Meanwhile, the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute ICBF distributed 2,700 kilograms of Bienestarina (food supplement) in powder to children under 10 years of age, who in the same way enjoyed recreational activities by the GEOS group of the River Navy Infantry Battalion No.17, the ZULU Group of the Naval Reserve and the PIC (Plan de Intervención Colectiva, in Spanish).
For its part, the Barranquilla Naval Reserve, gave a wheel chair to a minor with special needs to improve her mobility, her relatives were very happy, who with tears on their faces and emotional voices thanked the distribution of this technical help that will contribute to improve their quality of life. While the families that have been hit by the rain wave received 20 mats, 700 clothing kits and 400 dental kits.
