The Colombian Navy, through the Bolívar Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in coordination with the National Police Gaula and the Attorney General's Office, arrested 15 individuals, alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
After four years of investigation, the members of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) arrived at Barranco de Loba, Cartagena, Norosí in Bolívar, Bucaramanga (Santander) and El Banco (Magdalena), to arrest the individuals known by the aliases of Andrés Felipe, Alli, El Hormiga, El Inspector, Eliut, El paisa del Billiard, El paisa Loco, La Negra, Maceto, Martin, Mono Franco, Peluquero, Teresa, Trillos and Yobani.
These individuals, alleged members of this criminal organization of extortion, damaged mainly merchants, ranchers, and miners in the Southern region of Bolivar in the municipalities of Altos del Rosario, Barranco de Loba, Norosí, Puerto Rico, San Martín de Loba and Tiquisio, threatening to go on strike against their good physical condition and that of their family if they did not pay the extortions, which led them to raise around 400 million monthly.
At the time of the arrest, two shotguns, two carbines, a revolver, 690 cartridges of different calibers and three cell phones were found by troops.
The 15 individuals, along with the material, were put into custody of the s authorities, to whom they will have to face charges of extortion and association to commit aggravated crimes.
