In a coordinated operation, carried out by the Colombian Navy Units and officials of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, through the Judicial Police Group of the Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking, the discovery of 111 kilograms of high purity cocaine hydrochloride was possible; it would have European ports as marketing destination.
The result took place thanks to valuable information obtained through the Civic Participation Network, who, after several days of reports, alerted the authorities about the possible displacement of a vehicle that was transporting the cache from the Catatumbo region, in Norte de Santander, towards Santa Marta in the department of Magdalena, where it would be stored in a building, to be later sent to ports in Europe.
Operations were immediately coordinated to carry out controls on the access roads, which led to the identification of the vehicle and the suspicious movements that led it to the premises of a mechanical workshop that as a facade of the illegal actions.
Once at the place, the Units began the search procedures, where they found 112 rectangular packages. They were tested and the result was positive for 111 kilograms cocaine hydrochloride.
The cocaine would belong to a drug trafficking structure associated with the Organized Armed Group (GAO) Clan del Golfo.
It is estimated that the commercialization of this cargo on the European black market would cost close to 6,600.00 euros, an amount of money that, thanks to the decisive operation of the Colombian Navy in coordination with judicial authorities, will not enter the finances of transnational criminal organizations.
