Units of the Colombian Navy, in the course of an inter-institutional operation with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, find war material and military accessories allegedly belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, structure 30, in the sector known as Guadualito, rural area of the District of Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca.
The operation was carried out by troops of Navy Brigade No.2 and the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Buenaventura, accompanied by the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation; when they carried out search and military control of the area, they found inside an abandoned house, a shotgun, a traumatic pistol, 16 bracelets alluding to the residual GAO, Structure 30, in addition to ammunition of different calibres and garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces.
As a result, the gang's ability to coerce ethnic communities in the region was hit and its criminal interference in the area was weakened, as well as its intentions for expansion and alliances with other outlaw groups.
The Military Forces maintain a sustained operation against Farc dissidents in the Pacific region, with the aim of protecting the human rights, honor, dignity and heritage of its inhabitants, as well as ensuring the economic and social development of indigenous and Afro-descendant communities.
