Among those arrested there is alias Antonio, alleged ringleader of the substructure Heroes del Caribe.
In a coordinated operation conducted by the Navy of Colombia and the National Police, it was possible to arrest five suspected members of the substructure Heroes del Caribe of the Organised Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in the municipality of Arjona and the municipality of Gambote, in the Bolívar department, where in the same way troops seized war material, communications, and two motorcycles.
The individuals were arrested by troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Bolívar, of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Élite Militar Conjunto Nacional No.1 and units of the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) of the National Police, who simultaneously reached different sectors of the urban area of the municipality to find these men.
During the search procedures ordered by the specialized 155th Prosecutor's Office of Barranquilla, troops found four 38-millimeter caliber revolvers, a 22-millimeter pistol, a pistol magazine, 26 cartridges of different caliber, five cell phones and two motorcycles in which apparently these men committed the illicit activities such as extortion and targeted killings.
Among those arrested, there is alias Antonio, a 33-year-old man accused of being the alleged ringleader of the structure. In the same way, troops arrested alias Saúl, 47 years old; alias El Perro, 35 years old and a man of 38 years old, who were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office for their respective judicial process.
These arrests significantly damage this substructure, which, through its criminal operations, constrain and intimidate the productive groups of merchants in the Colombian Caribbean.
