In the course of a combined operation conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Brazilian Civil Police, over the weekend it was possible to find 1,800 kilograms of marijuana when it was transported on board a fishing ship in a rural area of the municipality of Tefé – Brazil.
Intelligence information of the Colombian Navy and the Amazon Narcotics Investigation Department, guided the Brazilian authorities who intercepted the boat Salmo 23, manned by three individuals from the neighboring country, when sailing on the Solimões River.
During the inspection of the boat, the authorities found that it had a storage compartment, where they were carrying approximately 1,800 rectangular packages of Crypy-type marijuana.
According to information provided by intelligence, the drug belongs to a drug trafficking structure found in the municipality of Tabatinga in Brazil.
It is estimated that the marijuana would cost more than 3,700 million pesos, in the South American illegal market.
The individuals were arrested and will be prosecuted in Brazil.
