Crewmen of the Colombian Navy, together with officials from public and private sector institutions, traveled by waterway about 50 kilometers to reach the municipality of Sucre – in the department of Sucre, in order to distribute humanitarian aid to families who were hit as a result of the floods reported during this time of rains.
On this occasion, the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17 made use of all its logistical and human resources available to transport 270 food baskets with basic food of the family basket, 200 children's medicine kits, 200 tents and 50 sacks of Bienestarina (food supplement), donated by the private company Super Giros, among other institutions.
The humanitarian aid was initially transported by land, aboard Navy Infantry vehicles, from Sincelejo - Sucre to Yatí - Bolívar and, later, in river units to the municipality of Sucre- in Sucre.
During the distribution activity, the Colombian Sailors ratified the Institutional and State work, in hard-to-reach places of the Mojana Sucreña, joining efforts to continue contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of this area of the country.
