These operations in favor of the people will be conducted throughout 2024.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, the soldiers of the Tenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, civil authorities and public and private institutions of the region have conducted operations to support the inhabitants who have been hit by the intense heat wave and droughts in the departments of Cesar and La Guajira.
In response to the needs of the communities that are in emergency due to the high temperatures and the prolonged lack of rains, the troops have benefited with more than 180,000 liters of drinking water to the inhabitants of rural areas and inhabitants of indigenous reserves, such as Yunyumena, Tezhunke, of the Wiwa ethnic group, and in the village Camperucho, of Valledupar, the municipalities of Barrancas, Fonseca and Distraccion in the department of La Guajira, among others.
In the same way, cleaning and maintenance activities of water sources have been conducted, in order to contribute so that communities can consume cleaner water and benefit from the fauna and flora of the region.
Colombian National Army will continue to provide the conditions that led the communities of these departments access to essential resources, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of their quality of life.
