The Los Libertadores Park in Villavicencio became a center of economic activity during the recent Farmer's Market, which managed to market products for $30 million COP.
The Mujer Emprende group played a leading role in organizing the event, which emphasized the empowerment of women entrepreneurs. Like her, many women of the Orinoquía region find spaces in these peasant food markets that promote their ideas and lead them to live off their products; “thanks to Colombian National Army we can make a better peasant market in support of us, especially women housewives”.
During the market, the entrepreneurs work to provide a wide range of products, including potato, meat, cheese, coconut products and handicrafts, demonstrating the quality and impact of small entrepreneurs in the region.
Major Hugo Andrés Sepúlveda Ruiz, commander of the Comprehensive operation and Development Support Battalion No. 4, highlighted the importance of the event by saying: “We are pleased to support and help the peasants, reducing intermediaries. It is the opportunity to reactivate the commercialization of the products.”
