The road had to be closed to protect people passing through the area.
Within the framework of military operations, soldiers of Colombian National Army neutralized a terrorist operation to be conducted with explosives on the Cúcuta-Tibú highway, in the sector known as Puente de Dios. This operation would be perpetrated by the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
Thanks to the intelligence work, the military closed the road axis to start clearing an area, where it was presumed there would be an area prepared with explosive devices, ready to be activated against the transit of people or troops.
After carrying out the necessary techniques and tactics, the experts in explosives and demolitions destroyed the threat in a controlled way, without generating any damage to the people or to the comrades.
Those responsible for this action would be members of the Juan Fernando Porras Martínez Front, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
After the area was secured, the road was reopened.
