In compliance with the Campaign Plan of the Ayacucho Military Operation 2023-2026 Plus, strategic objective No. 2 to weaken the resources of the threat, Colombian National Army has carried out powerful military operations countering the logistical scaffolding of organized armed and criminal groups that converge in different areas of the country.
This is how the troops, in a joint, coordinated and inter-institutional manner with the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Aerospace Force, the Police and the Attorney General's Office of the Nation, have made the arrest of 10,696 people to date, of which 8,050 belong to common crime; 1,077, to organized criminal groups; 915, to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo; 521, to the residual GAO, and 133, to the ELN and crimes related to drug trafficking.
Among those arrested are alias Jhon Naranjo, accused of being the ringleader of the residual GAO, Manuel Marulanda Vélez Amazonas Bloc, Substructure No. 39 Arcesio Niño, apparently linked to the collection of money from extortion against from merchants in the department of Meta; alias Juancho, alleged urban ringleader in the Department of La Guajira, of the GAO Clan del Golfo del Golfo, Nelson Darío Hurtado Simanca Structure, Francisco José Morelo Peñate Substructure, accused of threatening social leaders, and alias Mediarepa, ringleader of the GAO Clan del Golfo, Urabá Central Structure, requested in the District Court of East Texas on charges of association to commit crimes and illicit drug trafficking, and who had an arrest warrant for extradition purposes.
Meanwhile, 554 individuals have surrendered to justice and 68 voluntarily presented themselves, to begin their process of returning to life in legality; in the same way, the deaths occurred in the framework of military operations of alias Tripaseca, cousin of the extradited Otoniel and alias Brayan, head of security of the GAO-r Central Bloc Isaías Pardo, Ismael Ruiz Structure, as well as 107 other individuals belonging to armed organizations.
