Once again it is demonstrated how the Organized Armed Groups, GAO, ELN, Frente Domingo La铆n S谩enz and the residual GAO Structure 10 and Substructure 28 continue to indiscriminately violate human rights and international humanitarian law.
Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, through stability operations, National Army troops, jointly with the Aerospace Force and coordinated with the Judicial Police, found and dismantled abundant war material and explosives in the municipalities of Puerto Rond贸n and Saravena, department of Arauca.
The first operation was carried out in the village La Esmeralda, municipality of Puerto Rond贸n, where the troops found an illegal hideout that housed 78 mines, 206 detonators of different manufacture processes, 150 kilograms of anfo (explosive used in mining), 100 kilograms of steel pellets and abundant material that would be used for the manufacture of illicit methods and means of warfare.
In the same way, within the framework of another operation, it was possible to neutralize three mined areas in the El Consuelo sector, municipality of Saravena, where soldiers destroyed explosive devices that endangered the good physical condition of the inhabitants.
It is noteworthy that in this area of the country, by 2023 Colombian National Army has destroyed more than three tons of explosive devices and more than 900 anti-personnel mines, protecting the lives of 1000 Araucanians, including our peasants, children and indigenous communities, who are subjects of special protection and are usually the most disturbed by the criminal operations of these illegal groups.
In addition, the confiscation and subsequent destruction of these illicit means of warfare represent a powerful blow against criminal activities in the region by the armed groups GAO ELN, GAO-r E10 and Substructure 28, thus working to protect life under the fulfillment of the constitutional mission.
