The National Army, through the Magdalena Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and in inter-institutional coordination with the Gaula of the Police, achieved the arrest in flagrante delicto of five individuals, alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, David Meza Peña Substructure, who will have to face charges for the crimes of manufacturing, trafficking and carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, as well as trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics.
Among those arrested, there is alias Memo, the head of finance of this criminal substructure, in charge of the sale, storage and distribution of narcotics, reception of money resulting from extortion, as well as recruiting for this group, in the villages of Tasajera, Palmira, Loma Fresca of the municipality of Pueblo Viejo, in the same way in the village of Palermo, municipality of Sitionuevo, and the municipality of Ciénaga, department of Magdalena.
Within the framework of the operation, in the municipality of Pueblo Viejo, Magdalena, important war material was seized: 1 9 mm pistol-type firearm, 1 38 mm revolver-type firearm, 33 5.56 mm caliber cartridges, 313 bazuco doses, 1500 grams of marijuana, 1 cell phone and 1 Indugel units (explosive); all the material together with those arrested were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office No.5 specialized of Ciénaga, Magdalena, to continue with the process of prosecution.
With this important arrest of these alleged members of the substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in the municipalities of el Retén, Pueblo Viejo, Zona Bananera and Ciénaga, Magdalena, it was possible to hit the administration of the money collected of the sale of narcotics, the restructuring process of the organized armed group is in the same way was hit, decreasing the numbers of men in arms of this criminal group that loses control of the different routes and collection centers used for the movement of narcotics bound for abroad.
