In a sign of the commitment to the well-being of the communities of the department of Guaviare, soldiers of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade, in coordination with the civil authorities, has been fulfilling the mission of helping the vulnerable inhabitants and people with locomotion disabilities.
Within the framework of strategic objectives 1 and 3, to protect civilians and governance, a comprehensive project was launched to improve the living conditions of people living in San José del Guaviare.
In a demonstration of the commitment to local development, the soldiers work incessantly for the region, through their differential not armed Resources, focused on the Comprehensive Action of Colombian National Army and the Military Forces of Colombia.
Along with civil authorities this operation materialized in the adaptation of a crucial road for the inhabitants of the Bicentenario Dos neighborhood, a sector inhabited by about 20 families who find it difficult to move freely, due to the poor conditions of the streets of the sector.
This project not only seeks to improve the mobility of the inhabitants, but in the same way significantly boosts the local economy, facilitates transport and trade growth through enterprises, shops and services that contribute to the economic development of many more families.
"I am grateful for the support given by Colombian National Army, not only in the achievement of these works, but in the same way for the continuous and joint commitment with the local authorities; here the only thing that is sought is to ensure the region development and support civilians and, even better, vulnerable people," said the mayor of San José del Guaviare, Ramón Guevara.
In addition to improving the road constructions of three urban roads with more than 250 linear meters, this project will have a profound impact on the community, by providing easier and safer access to meet the basic needs of the inhabitants of the Bicentenario Dos neighborhood.
"This coordinated work conducted by Colombian National Army and the civil authorities, which is part of the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, in its objective No.1, is an example of how collaboration and engagement can lead to meaningful and lasting change. Through these efforts, Colombian National Army continues to contribute and support initiatives that lead to improving the quality of life of the communities," said Colonel Valerio Pérez Yepes, Chief of Staff and second commander of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade.
In the same way, William Franco, representative of the people of the Bicentenary Two neighborhood, expresses his satisfaction with the work, and thanked the authorities for helping to materialize this type of projects that directly benefit these 20 families who have had to overcome great difficulties to access free mobility.
The impact of this project goes beyond the immediate improvement of the road network and the quality of life of the inhabitants of San José del Guaviare; by supporting these people, Colombian National Army is helping to build a better future and prosperous development for the department of Guaviare.
