An illicit production of 3240 meters of trawling material per month, with a commercial cost of 226 million pesos, was obtained from the property in the rural area of San Luis, department of Tolima.
Troops of the Infantry Battalion No.18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, of the Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army, with the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Police, arrested two individuals accused of exploiting trawling material without environmental permits for this procedure in the village Paraguay, municipality of San Luis.
During the operation, the intervention of a mining production unit was achieved and the finding of a backhoe, where it was estimated a production of 3240 meters of haul material per month; this exploitation could leave some 226 million pesos of earnings, money that apparently would be contributing to the illicit activities of a common gang.
The two individuals were put into custody of the authority for the crimes of illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other materials.
Within the framework of the Amazon Plan, the soldiers of the Sixth Brigade of the Colombian National Army in the same way work to reduce the environmental impact generated by this process in an area close to 7 hectares in this part of the center of Tolima, where it is investigated which common crime group would be behind this procedure that hits the ecosystem.
